Technical analysis of wind energy potentials using a modified Weibull and Raleigh distribution model parameters approach in the Gambia

Wind energy has gained prominence over the past few decades because of its environment-friendly nature and abundant availability. However, exploration wind requires adequate knowledge distribution parameters before installing turbine. This study assessed potential harvesting at two Gambian locations by fitting best model comparing Weibull Raleigh Distributions. A novel approach combining pattern factor standard deviation methods in estimating characteristics Yundum Basse been presented statistically analyzed using functions. The results showed that shape ranged from 4.88 to 6.98 3.87–6.15 for locations, scale parameter 6.60 10.58 m/s 4.51–8.69 while calculated power densities 139 718 W/m2 46–390 respectively. These clearly show a high generating electricity with areas. statistical analysis revealed models perform better terms RMSD = 0.33, NSCOE=0.45,MAE=0.29 χ2= 1.57 gives fit R2=0.88, MAE=0.39 only making it more suitable calculating potentials.
